ProDen PlaqueOff Review - Does it Work as Advertised?

This ProDen PlaqueOff review looks that a product that claims keep your pet's teeth free of plaque build up and also helps improve their breath.  Unlike other products that require a topical application or friction on your pet's teeth ProDen PlaqueOff claims to remove plaque from your dog or cat by simply sprinkling their product on your pet’s food.

How does ProDen PlaqueOff remove plaque from dogs and cats teeth?
The whole concept behind this product made me very skeptical, actually I became more skeptical after I read about how it was supposed to work.  I assumed putting it on your pet's food meant that the product would rub against your pets teeth as they chewed their food and that would break down the plaque on your dog or cats teeth.  To my surprise that is not how PlaqueOff works!  When the product is digested the compound in the product comes out through your cat or dog’s saliva and breaks down the bacterial that forms plaque on the gums and teeth.  The product does not change the pH level in your pet's mouth or eliminate normal bacteria in the mouth (which is often useful for pet health).

So what is ProDen PlaqueOff made out of?
After reading how it is supposed to work I assumed that we would be dealing with some genetically engineered man-made chemical.  However ProDen states the product is made mainly a specific type of seaweed from the Scandinavia area.   The seaweed has a natural defense against bacterial biofilm.  No additives or chemicals are added and it is actually safe for human consumption.  No artificial coloring is added and it is free of gluten, preservatives, sugar and salt.

Hmmm, does this stuff actually work?
This is the main question we wanted answer from a ProDen PlaqueOff review isn't it.  I like the fact that I just have to sprinkle it on my dog or cat's food and that it is not packed full or various chemicals and additives but all that doesn't matter it the product does not work.  I've read plenty of positive reviews about PlaqueOff so I decided to give it a shot.  My beagle that is 7 years old did not seem to notice when I put it on his food, he gobbled up everything in his dish the same as he always did.  I would say after a month I definitely noticed a difference in both his teeth and with his breath.  After three months he did our usually trip to the vet and I was very happy when she said that there would be no need for a teeth cleaning this visit!  Of course my good old loveable beagle was the least of my worries as I figured he would be the easy one, it was my picky cat that I was worried about.  My little 2 year old kitty is a very picky and untrusting gal.  The first time she approached he food with ProDen PlaqueOff sprinkled on it she sniffed at it quite a bit and then took a very hesitant first bite but after the first bite she ate the same as always.  Now I will say that I have not seen a great improvement in her teeth, however, her teeth were in very good shape already since she is young.  During her visit to the vet no problems or concerns were found with her teeth.   I think with a young pet starting them early is a good step in keeping their teeth healthy from the very beginning.

How much does it cost and how much do I have to use?
ProDen PlaqueOff is sold in a few different sizes.  The most common is the 60g bottle and 180g tub.  A 60g bottle will last about a year for pets under 25 lbs.  For those pets 25 pounds to 50 pounds you will go through a 60g bottle about every six months.  For those dogs over 50 pounds you can expect a bottle to last around 3 months.  I've found the best prices for ProDen to be at Amazon where a 60g bottle is under $25 and a 180g tub is just over $50.  Each bottle comes with a spoon to measure out the proper amount.

ProDen PlaqueOff Review Summary - A highly recommended product that actually reduces plaque build up on your pet's teeth.
